چکیده

A glorious achievement of twentieth century Physics is the identification of the building blocks of nature. A related triumph a deep understanding of the forces of interaction. In particular, it has been possible to understand the four fundamental forces of nature in an elegant and unified mathematical framework. The paradigm for this unification has been the principle of gauge symmetry. A new approach to achieving further unification relies on Supersymmetry. This is a symmetry which relates particles of integer spin with those of half-integral spin and also dictates the allowed interactions among these particles. However, no data exist pointing to the presence of this symmetry; it may indeed be of no relevance to nature. In this paper the gauge principle and unification attempts are briefly reviewed, and then Supersymmetry is introduced. The notion of “broken” symmetry is discussed, which may explain why the symmetry is difficult to observe at presently accessible energies. But a badly broken manifestation seems to remove much of the original appeal and elegance of the theory. We here propose two alternative views of the status of Supersymmetry from fundamental standpoint. There is a good reason why it is indeed a fundamental symmetry, despite badly broken. The alternative is that it is an organizing principle, somewhat like valence. This makes it valuable as a signpost to new Physics.

By solving the Ward identities in a superconformal field theory we find the unique three-point Green's functions composed of chiral superfields for N = 1, 2, 3, 4 supersymmetry. We show that the N = 1 four-point function with R-charge equal to one is uniquely determined by the Ward identities up to the specification of four constants. We discuss why chiral Green's functions above three-points, ...

We study possible effects of supersymmetry (SUSY) in CP asymmetries in nonleptonic Bd,s decays in a variety of SUSY flavour models considered in literature. We use both mass insertion and vertex mixing methods to calculate squark-gluino box diagrams contribution to Bd,s-B̄d,s mixings. With the squark mixing parameter η = 0.22, and with large new CP phases, it turns out that the CP asymmetries to...

The connection between the strictly isospectral construction in supersymmetric quantum mechanics and the general zero mode solutions of the Schroedinger equation is explained by introducing slightly generalized first-order intertwining operators. We also present a multiple-parameter generalization of the strictly isospectral construction in the same perspective.

M/string theory on noncompact, negatively curved, cosets which generalize AdSD+1 = SO(D, 2)/SO(D, 1) is considered. Holographic descriptions in terms of a conformal field theory on the boundary of the spacetime are proposed. Examples include SU(2, 1)/U(2), which is a Euclidean signature (4, 0) space with no supersymmetry, and SO(2, 2)/SO(2) and SO(3, 2)/SO(3), which are Lorentzian signature (4,...
